I am so happy and excited that Nischala Joy Devi will be joining Open Mic this week! (click HERE for her website.)

After a brief introduction, I'll ask an initial question. After that, I'll moderate questions. If you have her book, great. If not, here’s the first four core sutras in her translation. A typical translation of each Sutra follows in parentheses.
1.1 With humility (an open heart and mind), we embrace the sacred study of Yoga. (Now the exposition of Yoga.)
1.2 Yoga is the uniting of consciousness in the heart. (The restraint of the modifications of the mind-stuff is Yoga.)
1.3 United in the heart, consciousness is steadied, then we abide in our true nature — joy. (Then the Seer, Self, abides in its own nature.)
1.4 At other times, we identify with the rays of consciousness, which fluctuate and encourage our perceived suffering. (At other times, the Self appears to assume the forms of the mental modifications.
It is wonderful to see Nischala’s unique perspective and beautiful translation that evokes inclusiveness and connection.
Join us for a wonderful opportunity to hear from this devoted and respected teacher.
